Don't let an Easy Glider get very high 'and' downwind from you.

I have a Cularis which is one of my favorite planes. I 'had' an EGE, which the winds gods saw fit to take over the mountain. Live and learn? Well, no... I 'had' an EGPro with 30some Leds buried in it. Well, the long story short. We set a new long di…

Well Eric.... only due to what has been what seems to be honest posts so far....... But I wouldn't tell that story to very many people unless you know them really well. LOL!!!! Unreal.

Well, my Dynaflight Super Decathlon is tweaked into shape for the tug. I recently picked up one of the Hobby-Lobby ASW 28s on a crash sale. All it lacks is some wire tie downs. We had planned to attempt the first tug/tow yesterday, but T-storms inte…

My friend and I have a flying field about 2 miles from my house. It's wonderful! We have a 600 foot x 80 foot runway with a commanding view. In the glider world, I fly mostly electrics. Our field is at the base of a mountain, so I do what I guess wo…

to have each servo on a separate channel, you would need 7 channels. You can use a Y-cable for flaps and run it on six. You might need a reversing Y-cable... or reverse the servos... or do internal mods to the servos so they run backwards from one a…

I use either the Futaba 12Z or 12FG. They are interchangeable for me. Both have all my models in them. About the only thing I've done with the EG is set up camber... so I can do both ailerons up or down a bit. Up gets you some speed to get you thro…

Yes it does. Looks a bit tough to land though. Looks like it needs to keep up pretty good speed so as not to tip stall. Nicely aerobatic though. Me, I'm still loving my Cularis. But really thinking about it, it's the radio as much as the model. It…

Well, it was tough dealing with the lost hours of putting those lights in. Wow.... I soldered and soldered and soldered. Took forever! But, really, I lost the time and the little over $100 for the glider kit. The story? Priceless and will live and b…

Well, not intentionally... but.... it seems that me and an Easy Glider have a short relationship. 'Night Glider' was a big hit at Joe Nall. I flew it upon arrival at like 1am, then each night after that. Seems every time people gathered to find out…

Dumorian replied to Eric's discussion 'Trim colors for foam' in the group electric
Our club doesn't have a website but our local flying field... membership of 2 does! As for the painting... First, this was on Elapor. So, if you doing your EG it should work fine. I used regular Krylon paints... enamel. I sanded off the molding…

Dumorian replied to Eric's discussion 'Trim colors for foam' in the group electric
On my Elapor models, I just use Krylon paint. I normally use a darkish color on the bottom because at altitude the bottom looks dark anyway and then I use something bright on the top with perhaps some large dark stripes or something that can be seen…

LOL! Yeah! Nothing like having a plane that feels bad and then add the distraction of people. With most trainers, this doesn't matter as much. With a glider, finding that sweet spot is awesome. On mine, I have a pile of electrics stuffed in the bac…

wow, that sounds like FUN dude! i can imagine the adventure... would love to try it someday. Summertime is going to be a blast for night flying. my brother was in town with some professional camera and video gear, so I got the first pictures and vi…

I had a great time Saturday evening with my Easy Glider Pro. This glider has around 60 LEDs buried into the foam during the build. Only two of them show from the outside, they shine light up onto the bottom of the stab. We started flying at about 7…

how long have you been flying and what types of gliders?
I've been flying e-powered gliders for one year. My largest flier at the moment is a Cularis. I have a 4M in the works.
your first glider? your favorite? building now or next?
My first glider was an Easy Glider Electric. My favorite at the moment is my Cularis and I have one of those cheapo CMPro 4M which is going to get a 4130 in the nose!

Super Decathlon Tug

One of my other glider 'related' projects is a Dynaflight Super Decathlon kit. It is still under construction but getting closer. I'm powering it with a 36cc gasser. One of its duties beyond just flying it and the fun in that, is I have built in a tug release. I've never successfully towed a glider up, but we did have some really comical events one day trying to do this!

First, the glider should be an aileron glider. RE just doesn't quite cut it. Also, the tow release on the glider should be on… Continue
