Really every flight is once-in-a-lifetime because each is different and if you fly often a lot of weird things happen - but this was eye-popping.
When Randy Carr (fatlion.com) told me that the DAW S-126 is one of his all-time favorites, I decided to restore
my S-126. Here's what Randy actually said:
BTW, my poly-S1-26 is quite maneuverable. I do rolls (without any assistance

This is my SuperFly by
SuperFlyRC - I picked this up to teach my six and eight year old girls to fly. Maidened it yesterday and it's a real hoot! Easy to build, easy and fun to fly.

One of my other glider 'related' projects is a Dynaflight Super Decathlon kit. It is still under construction but getting closer. I'm powering it with a 36cc gasser. One of its duties beyond just flying it and the fun in that, is I have built in a tug release. I've never successfully towed a glider up, but we did have some really comical events one day trying to do this!
First, the glider should be an aileron glider. RE just doesn't quite cut it. Also, the tow release on the glider should be on…

I flew my easyglider for over an hour today overlooking Wonderland Lake in great slermal conditions, about 45° out and sunny. I flew from a spot somewhat protected from the wind and it was unusual to be soaring but only feeling the lightest breeze on my face. Nice spot for winter flying.
Finally got the nerve up to try a roll - and it worked out! Could have done it long ago but was hoping to get the realflight simulator and do it on the computer first. With the recession getting worse, I gave u…

last time I went flying I lost a knob from my radio so looked around for a replacement and came up with
this interesting large gimbal.
Just ordered it and thinking it might be good for kids and flying in the winter with gloves...

After a far-too-long hiatus, due maintly to laziness on my part, the Riser 100 is airworthy again. I put her back together this week, recovered the right wing tip panel, and charged up the batteries. The last time she flew was in November.
On that fateful day, it was getting late, but I wanted to get one more flight in. I launched her like normal, but something just wasn't quite right.... she seemed a little flat on the winch. At the top of the launch, she didn't want to get off the line. I cou…

other Boulder slopes here...
Comments from Boulder pilots about this site: "That slope is flyable in a NW wind. The bowl at the south end of the ridge is nice, as well as the open ridge line on the north end above the thermal field. Works best in 10-15mph, anything more and it gets blown out, or you need a heavy ship. Best access is to park at the bottom of the bowl (curve in Cherryvale) and walk through the gate. Head right to…

these are the D.A.W. foamie construction tips.. some very good information here for anyone building with foam. I post them here in case they ever disappear from the Internet.
The following is a discussion of some of the finer points of constructing EPP foam airframes with a definite 'DAW' philisophical bent! There's other methods that work well, some of which are mentioned below, and it's up to you to be the final judge on what suits you. As with anything, experience increases skill, but if you…

INTRODUCTION
This is a review of techniques and examples of covering EPP foam gliders with laminating film in preparation for
building my FSD Kaze. First, a comment by Karl (Predator) who pioneered the
"new stuff":
I have found an AWESOME new covering material! I think, so far. . . It comes in MANY differe
