RC glider and sailplane

This is my SuperFly by SuperFlyRC - I picked this up to teach my six and eight year old girls to fly. Maidened it yesterday and it's a real hoot! Easy to build, easy and fun to fly.

They say it takes about four hours to build - I didn't count, but it is quick.

I applied lightweight 3 mil laminating film to the leading edge (fins also) and then colored packing tape on top. I really like the laminating film and packing tape combination. Laminating film goes on so quickly and easily you'll never want to use any other covering after you try it. Then, the packing tape can be changed whenever you get tired of your colors. I really like the brightness compared to spray paint. The liminating film is also tough.

The final weight came in at about 11.5 ounces measured with a very crude scale. the biggest mistake I made was in gluing the two wing halves together. I accidentally turned off my glue gun and did not realize until I had laid out the bead of glue already. so, when I put the wings together the glue did not spread out properly and I ended up with a gap which I filled with more glue. oopps!!
